We run a homestay because because our 4 kids are grown and out of the house. We've been hosting students for over 10 years, from France, Japan and China, and we are happy to introduce you to any of our former homestay students for references, we keep in touch with all of them.
We are a mixed race/nationality family, husband born in England, wife born in Japan (with a Japanese mother and US born father). Wife speaks some Japanese and some Spanish. We're a professional couple, wife is a professor and husband a businessman, and we have visited many countries in Europe and Asia.
We have a beautiful, large home with a private back yard in a quiet cul-de-sac close to bus routes to Santa Monica College and UCLA. We're 2.5 miles from the world famous Venice Beach.
Home is Japanese-clean, no shoes worn in the house. We offer a large (150 square ft) room with a single bed and ample closet space, adjacent to a semi-private full bathroom. We provide cooked dinners 4 nights/week and food for you to prepare your own breakfast. You have unlimited access to the kitchen and to laundry facilities and we provide weekly maid service. We have a piano which you are welcome to use.
We are regular attendees of theater and opera and in many cases we have invited students to attend such events with us at no charge.
We have two cats and one dog who spend much of their time outside of the house, dog in our large back yard, cats in front yard.
